Little Caribbean
🥄0
Stir Rye Whiskey, Pineapple Rum, Sweet Vermouth, Orgeat with ice. Strain into a coupe.
A friend stopped by the Smoke Shop for dinner one evening and asked for a Manhattan as his second drink. When I offered options ranging from classic to tropical, he went with the latter since he had been making Tiki drinks over the weekend. Inspired by the Martinique cocktail from "Pioneers of Mixing at Elite Bars: 1903-1933," I created a variation using rye whiskey and pineapple rum in equal parts, replacing the sweet vermouth with Punt e Mes, Angostura bitters, and Peychaud's. I named it the Little Caribbean after a Brooklyn neighborhood.
