Lady Midnight

Stir Apple Brandy, Sweet Vermouth, BéNéDictine, Green Chartreuse with ice. Strain into a coupe.

In 2016, while crafting a drink for Loyal Nine's cocktail of the day, I wanted to welcome autumn with a twist on the Marconi Wireless recipe. Starting with Calvados and sweet vermouth, I incorporated Benedictine, inspired by The Widow’s Kiss, and a hint of Green Chartreuse, reminiscent of a version served at Coppa. To enhance the rich flavors in Benedictine, I added chocolate bitters. Naming it after Leonard Cohen's evocative song "Lady Midnight" seemed fitting for its mysterious yet fleeting essence.
