A shaken flute where Prosecco is brightened by lime juice and rounded with ginger and orange liqueur, with a few drops of Blue Curaçao for colour. Created by Jason Westplate in 2013.

Jason Westplate created La Luciole in 2013. When the thick blue curaçao sinks into the sparkling cava, it forms a blue spiral in the pale green drink, a sight reminiscent of the glowing tail of a firefly.

Instructions

  1. Chill a cocktail shaker by filling it with ice.
  2. Then, incorporate the liqueurs and lime juice.
  3. Vigorously shake until well-chilled.
  4. Next, strain the mixture into a frozen champagne flute.
  5. Top off with cava and finish by drizzling three drops of blue curaçao over the top.
