Juan Madera
🥃0
Shake Mezcal, Sweet Vermouth, Lime Juice, Kummel with ice. Strain into a coupe.
Inspired by a drink called the John Wood from William Boothby’s 1934 book World Drinks and How to Mix Them, which I had previously enjoyed, I decided to put my own spin on it. The original featured whisk(e)y with lemon, but I opted for mezcal as a substitute for kümmel since it complements agave spirits nicely. Additionally, I swapped the lemon for lime and named this new creation the Juan Madera.
