Demerara rum forms a rich, dark base, with CioCiaro and Velvet Falernum adding bittersweet spice, a small measure of Scotch, Angostura and an orange twist. Created by Matt "RumDood" Robold at 320 Main in Seal Beach, California in 2014, stirred and served in a rocks glass.
Similar names: Jon 's Gun Metal Blue cocktail, Jon's After Supper, Jon's Negroni Cocktail
The drink had already become popular before Matt Robold gave it a name. Robold had planned to call it Dead Last, but by then it was widely known as Jon Hamm's Briefcase, and that name stuck.
