Chill a Nick & Nora glass using ice and water then discard the ice.
Pour one shot of freshly brewed espresso over ice in a shaker to cool it down, strain out the ice immediately to prevent dilution.
Combine Averna, Kahlúa, and fresh ice cubes into the shaker. Shake vigorously until foamy.
Strain the mixture into the prepared Nick & Nora glass.
Decorate with three coffee beans.
