A creamy, minty and chocolatey mix of Irish whiskey, crème de menthe, crème de cacao and cream, finished with a pinch of nutmeg. Shaken and served in a cocktail glass; created by Frederic Yarm at Drink in Boston in 2022.

Frederic Yarm created the Irish Grasshopper at Drink in Boston on St. Patrick's Day 2022, when a guest asked for something creamy and minty. Heavy cream stood in for Baileys to give an Alexander-style drink, with half the crème de cacao replaced by crème de menthe and Glendalough 7 Year Old Irish Whiskey added. It went down well that evening and was made again several times later in the week.
