Improved Bamboo

Stir Dry Sherry, Dry Sherry, Dry Vermouth, Dry Vermouth with ice. Strain into a coupe.

Inspired by the Rockin' Like Bamboo from Imbibe Magazine, I decided to craft my own version of the Improved Bamboo cocktail. I liked the balance of dry and blanc vermouth in the original drink and kept that combination. For a twist, I used both Fino and Amontillado sherry, reflecting my preference for each type over time. To elevate it further, I added Maraschino and absinthe, echoing Jerry Thomas’s 1876 style, particularly since Maraschino complements nutty Amontillado beautifully.
