Ingredients: 8 ml Orgeat; 1 dash Angostura Bitters; 45 ml Cognac; 15 ml Lemon Juice; 8 ml Hot Water; 30 ml Mango Juice

Cognac, mango juice and orgeat make a soft, fruity body, kept in check by lemon and a dash of Angostura. Shaken and served in a coupe; created by Phillip Gruneich in 2019.

Phillip Gruneich created the Himalaya in 2019 as an entry for Bacardi Legacy in Brazil, where it did not get past the top 10. During testing a bottle of brandy was picked up by mistake instead of Angostura 7 rum, and the resulting taste was good enough that the brandy version stayed. The Angostura bitters were then replaced with Bittermen's Xocolatl Mole, since chocolate pairs well with mango, and a little water goes in before straining to loosen the drink while keeping its body.
