Hell Haggerty
🥄0
Stir Scotch, Apple Brandy, Amaro, Cinnamon Syrup with ice. Strain into a rocks glass.
Inspired by the Armstrong cocktail from Idlewild with its Sfumato-cinnamon syrup, I decided to experiment with a Scotch and apple brandy base that complemented this ingredient well, as seen in the Leaf Fall. The Montenegro-cinnamon mix in the Battle Annie got me thinking about gang-related names, leading me to Herbert Asbury's "The Barbary Coast." There, I discovered Haggerty from the Sydney Ducks gang, a group of British criminals who migrated to San Francisco during the Gold Rush era. Haggerty owned two infamous bars: the Goat & Compass and the Golden Rule. This is how the Hell Haggerty cocktail was born.
