Rum built in a rocks glass with lemon juice, triple sec, Licor 43, allspice dram, two kinds of bitters and fresh mint. Tart and spiced, with a sweet vanilla-and-citrus note from the Licor 43.
Thierry Vandevelde of La 25ème Heure in Soignies, Belgium, created the Havana Swizzle after growing tired of seeing everyone order mojitos. The aim was a more intricate drink that would draw people's interest, and it became a hit.
