Hariken
🥃0
Shake Jamaican Rum, Cognac, Lemon Juice, Passion Fruit Syrup with ice. Strain into a coupe.
In January 2019, during Tiki the Snow Away month, I drew inspiration from the original 1940 Pat O'Brien's Hurricane recipe rather than its modern versions. The idea struck me to blend it with Jerry Thomas' Japanese Cocktail from his 1862 book. For a name, I chose Harikēn, which means storm in Japanese.
