The Gringa cocktail emerged during the Reddit Original Cocktail Competition in April 2023, focusing on gin and egg. Inspired by the classic White Lady, I pondered alternative liqueurs to replace triple sec. The unusual pairing of lemon and chocolate from the Twentieth Century cocktail sparked my imagination, leading me to think about Mexican chocolate flavors such as cinnamon, chiles, and ginger. Naming it was a playful question: what would you call a White Lady in Mexico?
