A New York Times comment mentioned Employees Only as the creator of the Greenwich Sour. However, when I called to confirm, no one there knew about it. I'm still waiting for a bartender’s response at 212-242-3021. The recipe listed is from Temple Bar, which uses bourbon instead.

Instructions

  1. Skip the wine for now and give everything else a brisk dry shake.
  2. Add ice and shake again until well chilled.
  3. Strain into a glass filled with ice from a lowball tumbler.
  4. Float a splash of dry red wine on top.
  5. Garnish with an orange slice and a cherry.
