Instructions

Chill a mixing glass with ice cubes. Pour 2 ounces of rye whiskey over the ice. Add 1 ounce of sweet vermouth to it. Measure and incorporate half an ounce of gingerbread syrup. Sprinkle in two dashes of Angostura bitters. Stir all ingredients until thoroughly chilled. Strain into a pre-chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with either a maraschino cherry or a small gingerbread cookie on the rim.
