Instructions

Create sugar syrup if not already prepared. Use frozen halved strawberries as is or chop fresh ones into small pieces. Squeeze lime juice to measure. Crush ice in an ice crusher or blender, set aside nearby. Combine crushed ice and strawberries in the blender. Measure tequila, orange liqueur, lime juice, and sugar syrup. Blend for about 30 seconds until smooth and slushy. Add water gradually if mixture is too thick. Taste and sweeten with more sugar syrup as needed. Pour into glasses and garnish with your choice of toppings. A cocktail pick with a fresh strawberry half, thin lime slice, and cherry works well or use a lime wheel and an optional piece of strawberry on the rim. For salted rims, rub the glass edge with a lime wedge then dip it in coarse salt to stick. Crush salt if too chunky for smoother application. Salt glasses just before serving.
