A rye whiskey sour with lemon juice, a little orange juice and grenadine, while small measures of green Chartreuse and maraschino liqueur add herbal and cherry notes. Created by Frederic Yarm in Boston in 2019.
Frederic Yarm came up with the Final Ward Eight in 2019, inspired by Phil Ward's variation on the Last Word. Ward 8, a Boston cocktail from 1898, and the Last Word both use rye and lemon juice, which made it natural to merge elements of the two drinks.
