Exploding Plastic Inevitable
🥃0
Shake Mezcal, Braulio, Apricot Brandy, Lime Juice with ice. Strain into a coupe.
Inspired by seeing people mix my As I Lay Dying cocktail on Instagram, I decided to blend the Braulio-apricot duo with elements from the Pendennis Club. While I could have omitted the Peychaud’s bitters used in the Pendennis like Campari replaces Angostura in the Jasmine, Peychaud’s often elevates a drink's flavor profile. The name for this unique concoction came to me after reading Ada Calhoun’s book St. Marks is Dead, which mentions Andy Warhol and friends’ multimedia events called the Exploding Plastic Inevitable from the 1960s.
