Instructions

  1. Begin by pouring the lime juice and sugar syrup into your glass
  2. Hold a handful of fresh mint (roughly 12 leaves), clap them between your hands to release the aromatic oils, then add them to the glass
  3. Gently muddle the mint leaves with a muddler or blunt tool—be careful not to crush them too forcefully, as this will make the drink taste bitter
  4. Pour in the gin and add crushed ice until the glass is more than halfway full
  5. Stir well with a spoon to mix everything together
  6. Add the tonic water, top the glass with crushed ice, garnish with a cucumber slice and mint sprig, and serve with a straw
