Doctor Cocktail

0

A short, tart-sweet coupe built on rum and Swedish punsch, with the arrack-spiced sweetness of the punsch lifted by lemon and a touch of orange. Light on citrus, it drinks smooth and rounded rather than sharp.

The Doctor Cocktail is credited to Frank Meier and dated 1936. Trader Vic Bergeron's Bartender's Guide from 1947 gives a version made with punsch, Jamaican rum and orange and lemon liqueurs.
