Devil's Highway

Stir Tequila Blanco, Scotch, Suze, BéNéDictine with ice. Strain into a rocks glass.

A patron at Drink asked for a cocktail blending tequila and Scotch, which surprised me since most people who like smoky flavors usually go for mezcal. Inspired by an Old Fashioned, I mixed in Suze and Benedictine with honey syrup to balance the sweetness. The name Devil's Highway came later, inspired by Luis Alberto Urrea’s book.
