Frederic Yarm created the Devil's Highway at Drink in Boston in 2022, after a guest asked for a cocktail combining tequila and Scotch. It is built on the Old Fashioned format, with Suze and Benedictine added and honey syrup used to temper the sweetness. The name was chosen afterwards, taken from a book by Luis Alberto Urrea.

- Combine the ingredients in a double old fashioned glass.
- Add one big ice cube.
- Stir until well chilled and mixed.
- For serving, use a lemon twist as garnish when at home;
- if you're working, just add the lemon's essential oils instead.
