Gosling's Rum trademarked the name Dark 'n Stormy in 1988 for its mix of dark rum and ginger beer. The company's own serving is about 1.5 ounces of rum topped with a much larger measure of ginger beer, and a version made with another brand of rum is technically a Rum Mule.
