Cutman

Shake Herbal Liqueur, Jeppson'S Malort Jeppson'S Malort, Swedish Punsch, Lemon, Mint (6-8 Leaves) with ice. Strain into a rocks glass.

Inspired by Nick Jarrett’s Prizefighter No. 2, I decided to create a variation similar to my Cornerman riff on his Prizefighter No. 7. For bitterness tempered by saltiness, I chose Malört, complemented with apricot liqueur for balance. Initially planning to use sweet vermouth, I recalled the compatibility of Swedish punsch and apricot from the Havana Cocktail, which influenced drinks like Tainted Love and Gunwale Punch. The name Cutman emerged during my previous Prizefighter series exploration and stuck as a tribute to the vital role these cornermen play in protecting fighters’ vision and breathing.
