Comings and Goings

Stir Rhum Agricole, Dry Sherry, Apricot Brandy, Strega with ice. Strain into a coupe.
I was inspired to create a new cocktail based on John Gertsen's Rhum Agricot and Martin Cate's Abricot Vieux, leading me to think about how I could adapt these drinks. Initially, I considered using Campari with apricot flavors but then remembered the successful combination of apricot and Strega in another drink (refer to my blog for more details). I decided to keep Fino sherry instead of dry vermouth from a previous sketch and added aromatic bitters to complement the Strega. The name came from an 1887 painting by Paul Gauguin, created while he was on Martinique.
