Campo Viejo
🥄0
Stir Rye Whiskey, Mezcal, Fernet Branca, BéNéDictine with ice. Strain into a rocks glass.
I came up with this cocktail after bartending at Drink in Boston one night. While making an Oldfield for a guest there, the combination of rye, Fernet, Benedictine, and Angostura stuck with me. Inspired by another drink I created that evening, the Last American Hero, I decided to blend mezcal into the mix at a ratio of 3:1 with rye and added chocolate bitters. For its name, I played off the Oldfield theme and called it Campo Viejo, which means "old field" in Spanish.
