Instructions

  1. Warm a rocks glass.
  2. Pour the cognac into the warmed glass. Tilt the glass onto its side and prop its bowl against the rim of a second rocks glass.
  3. Ignite the cognac, then carefully set the glass upright again on the bar.
  4. Pour in the boiling water, which puts out any flame left, and add the simple syrup.
  5. Stir, garnish with lemon and orange zest twists and serve.
