- Place water in a saucepan and heat it until gently simmering.
- In a heat-resistant bowl set over this pot, combine the egg yolk along with all other liquid ingredients except for the coffee.
- Whisk continuously for around two to three minutes or until the mixture noticeably thickens.
- Pour this mixture into your Irish coffee mug and stir in the brewed coffee.
- Finish by sprinkling freshly grated nutmeg on top as a garnish.
