Alexander
🥃IBA0
A rich, dessert-like cocktail of cognac, crème de cacao, and cream. An indulgent classic from the early 1900s.
The Alexander serves as a precursor to numerous contemporary cocktails such as the Brandy Alexander, Grasshopper, Golden Dream, and White Russian. Its recipe first appeared in Hugo Ensslin's "Recipes for Mixed Drinks" in 1916. A popular tale suggests that it was invented to honor Phoebe Snow, an advertising icon clad entirely in white.
