Inspired by the Hanky Panky, I thought about other H and P combinations, which led me to H.P. Lovecraft, the New England horror writer. This connection made me think of Malört as a base spirit for its eerie quality. Naming it after Ada Coleman, who invented the Hanky Panky at the Savoy Hotel bar, seemed fitting.
