A stirred drink on the rocks built on Old Monk and dry sherry, with sweet vermouth and Bénédictine adding richness and herbal sweetness. Created by Lena Webb at Spoke Wine Bar in Somerville in 2013.
Lena Webb created the 1818 Cocktail at Spoke Wine Bar in Somerville, Massachusetts, at the request of Fred Yarm. It was first made with Dolin Red vermouth, but Webb and Yarm swapped in Punt e Mes after tasting it, for a bolder result.
